Our GP’s work closely with midwives and health visitors to provide support throughout pregnancy and following birth.
If you are newly pregnant, please visit the links below to see more information. You do not require a GP appointment.
Anyone who is pregnant or has had a baby and lives in Torbay and South Devon can now call a new maternity hotline if you need urgent medical advice and help from a midwife. The new Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust maternity triage line is available 24-hours, seven days a week for anyone who is more than 12 weeks pregnant or has had a baby in the past 28 days. You will be able to talk to a midwife if you’re experiencing cramping, bleeding, reduced baby movements, your waters have broken, or labour has begun, or are concerned about anything else related to your pregnancy or recent birth. Please call 01803 656588.
Routine advice and queries about appointments should still be directed to your community midwife or appropriate department.
