If you are planning to watch the partial Solar Eclipse on Wednesday 12 August 2026, please ensure that you take safety precautions to do so.
Wear appropriately designed eye protection – eclipse glasses are available to purchase from some opticians. Regular sunglasses will not protect your eyes from retina damage.
Do not look directly at the eclipse without eye protection, even though the sun looks dimmer than usual, the UV rays are still very strong and cause damage to your eyes, even if you cannot feel it.
